Wreck This Journal Update 2016 #1

Just a quick update on my wreck this journal! It's been pretty fun to get back into drawing and using my imagination to think of ideas for each page.

This page has the prompt "Make a mess, clean it up".

"Poke holes in this page using a pencil" I used a pen, that still counts right? Well, I'm sure James Bond makes up for it anyway.

"Space for negative comments"

"Pick up the journal without using your hands" use the force instead ;)

"Crack the spine"

"Doodle over the top of this page" Little bit of hunger games action.

That concludes my first wreck this journal update for 2016, Hope you are all having a creative and inspired Year so far!

New Year, New Wreck This Journal

It's a brand new year! I thought it was only fitting to start my second wreck this journal that has been just sitting in my shelf for a couple months waiting for me to begin wrecking again.
This time I decided I would make some wreck with me videos as well, so if you'd like to see those, head over to my youtube channel. I'll try to keep updated and do at least 2 videos every month.

My cover! I love collages and wolves, if you can't tell. I did a similar cover on my previous wreck this journal.
There's a tutorial on my youtube channel how I did this.
Basically i printed off some images from tumblr on regular copy paper and stuck them on with some gold washi tape around the edges.

Instructions page! Inspired by Alice in Wonderland

Pour, spill, drip, spit, fling your coffee here page. Also inspired by Alice in Wonderland (can you see a trend?)

Colour this entire page. Inspired by the New york skyline. I used chalk pastels and a black marker pen.

Tie a string to the spine of the book and swing wildy page. Inspired by The Hunger Games.

Hope you're having a great week! x

Rainbow Mandala Cake

I am a little bit obsessed with anything to do with henna patterns and the flower design, I never knew what it was called until now, a Mandala. I've seen them in both simple black and full color, I love the vibrancy of the coloured ones so I thought it would make an awesome pattern on top of a cake!

Using Royal icing, some rainbow food colours and my already butter creamed pink vanilla cake.
You can change up the colours and customise it exactly the way you like.
If you'd like to know how I did this cake, watch the video below.

Stained glass dragonfly cake (for my Mum's Birthday)

Hello Hello!
It was my Mums Birthday over the weekend and I wanted to make her a cake (I mean how can one celebrate a birthday without cake... it's just not possible.). Leading up to her Birthday I asked her what kind of cake she wanted. At first she told me to do anything, then changed her mind to a traditional black forest cake, which is her favourite. A few days later she gave me the specific instructions of "Blue, green, bit of purple. A dragonfly in there somewhere and sparkly."  Under my orders, I came up with this design.

She was pretty happy with the cake and enjoyed her day! Underneath all that colourful icing and sparkles is a moist vanilla cake.  Mainly so I could say the word "moist" when describing the cake.

Hope you're all having a spectacular week,
