Wreck this journal update #6

Hey there! I'm back again with another update!
So far, what i'm really loving about completing my wreck this journal with all these pages with different prompts on each one is that they are completely open to interpretation. They rely on your own imagination and creativity to bring them to life.
There's no strict rule to follow, sure there's a little phrase that kind of tells you what to do, but everyone is different in their creativity (thank goodness for that) and it's amazing to see what other's have done with the exact same page.

This first Image (above) is Ariel, if you didn't know that already... then well.. I don't know what to say to you. I somehow came to the conclusion that she would fit perfectly with the showery.. watery theme... I tried to English that.. I'm not sure it worked.

This next page is "glue in a random page from a newspaper", ya'll muggles won't grasp this page, but i just searched some articles from the daily prophet online and glued them in, making the pages look aged with black chalk.

"Sew this page" Sally from nightmare before christmas came into my mind instantly. On the far left I have a quote from the movie that reads "One person's craziness is another persons reality"

"pretend you're doodling on the back of an envelope while on the phone " Pretty self explanatory, I used black  pen and just randomly did some designs. This pattern is literally next to most of my uni class notes. I was totally paying attention in class, I swear.

"Cover this page in white things"  I googled this before I started because i was out of inspiration. I saw one photo were someone had literally stuck a tampon on the page, rather an.... interesting approach. Using my better judgment I decided against it and instead drew all the things I could think of that were white or partially white.

"Scribble wildy using only borrowed pens"  Pens borrowed from my lovely giver of birth.

"Page of good thoughts"  On the left I wrote down my favourite quote by J.R.R Tolkien. If you can't read it, it says "All that is gold does not glitter, Not all those who wander are lost ; The old that is strong does not wither, Deep roots are not reached by the frost. From the ashes a fire shall be woken, A light from the shadows shall spring. Renewed shall be the blade that was broken; The crownless again shall be King"
And on the right I wrote down some little things I like.

"Make a mess clean it up"  Evil messy minion vs silly good minion

"Glue random items here" I had just bought a new game of thrones shirt and had the tag that came with it lying around so i decided to put it to good use!

"Color outside the lines" There was a single circle draw on the right hand side of the page, which made me think of a moon.  This would probably be my favourite page so far.

"Trace your hand" presented by Spock.

"Cut through several layers". I knew I had to include Hugh Jackman somewhere In my journal, I mean... common. This was the perfect page for it!

"Collect fruit stickers here" I left this page blank for a while because I literally searched through our fruit bowl with no fruit sticker in site. Typical..
Instead though I had a spare apple sticker and decided to draw Steve Jobs.

"Infuse this page with a smell of your choosing"  I decided on Miss Dior, some pink clouds and what girly page would be complete without sparkles..

That's it for my update so far!

Hope you're all having a great week and have you started/going to start a wreck this journal?

DIY: 1 minute choc-chip cookie in a mug (microwave desserts)

Who doesn't love a freshly baked chocolate-chip cookie? Right. Unless of course you're allergic, then my condolences.  However, you don't always have access to an oven to acquire such chocolately vanilla goodness, especially if you're a student or travelling. Though more than likely you will be able to use a microwave!
So I came up with this super easy, super quick and super tasty recipe for a single serve microwave chocolate chip cookie!
For the full recipe and instructions, watch the video link below!
Hope you're all having an excellent week and had a great Easter.

Wreck this Journal update #3

One of the first things I thought of when I saw this page was snow white, so i decided to make my page look like an enchanted fairytale book.
Because Paris, right? The prompt on this page is "Fill this page with circles" so I just drew all the outlines in black and used my gel pens (scented with strawberry and grape ofcourse) to create the dots.
My favourite song by Ellie Goulding, It was used in the Divergent movie, which is probably why i'm so obsessed with it. The prompt on this page is "Draw lines while in motion, on the bus, on a train or while walking."
 Need I say more?
Filled this page with quotes from the fault in our stars and on the next page which prompts you to stick the two pages together are stars, I probably should have taken a photo of that as well.... but apparently that was too much effort.

That's it for my update! Hope you are all well and having a great week!

Wreck this Journal!

It's official! After just receiving my new copy of "wreck this journal" by Keri Smith in the mail today, I have started a new addiction.
If you haven't herd of this book (where have you been?) It is basically a book that has different prompts on each page, which are open to interpretation. I know sometimes I can get stuck with what to draw or make, so having that prompt, even if it's just a word helps with the flow of creativity.

The types of prompts on each page, to name a few are things like;

- This page is a sign, what do you want it to say?
-climb up high and drop this book.
-document time passing
-glue a random page from a newspaper
-A page full of four letter words

If I honesty wrote them all down this blog post would be huge. The one that says to climb up high and drop the book, by all means you can go climb somewhere and peg your book to the ground but  It is also open to interpretation. For instance what you think is very high up, like space or a hot air balloon and go draw that!

I'm still struggling with the whole"wrecking" a book idea. From a young age I always loved books and was taught to be gentle and care for them. The first time I accidentally ripped my wreck this journal, I think I may have actually apologised.

Here we go, at the start of the book is the warning and acknowledgements.
The warning explains that you may get a little bit covered in paint and rainbows! Fine with me. I decided to whip out my chalk pastels to colour in this page.

The next page asks you to write your name in different ways, like in white, ( I used glitter, any excuse to use glitter) backwards and faintly.

The page next to it was left blank and boring, So i decided to stick an Ed Sheeran lyric on there.

This page had nothing but an arrow and some numbered "rules", which have now been bedazzled with gel pens and chalk pastels.

I shall continue updating through-out the week as I continue to wreck my awesome new journal.
If you have never had one of these or are looking to get more inspiration with drawing or even if you want to have some fun, I recommend this book.
Get wrecking!
